Posted by:

If you feel you have too little time to dedicate towards preparing your food, this list is for you. It’s not an exhaustive list but should be an easy starting point for people new to creating more structure in their diet. You don’t necessarily need to weigh everything you eat but you must adjust your goals and expectations when you have a more relaxed approach. If you’re working with a professional you must also realize they can’t provide you with ...

New USDA Dietary Guidelines

Posted by:

For 2017 the United States Depepartment of Agriculture released some new dietary guidelines. It notably eased it’s hard restrictions towards cholesterol and sodium while giving the OK for a cup of caffeinated coffee in the morning.

The Washington Post had an excellent article on all of the details so I don’t want to copy and rehash what they’ve already said.

Mainly, I wanted to share the two infographics below as I thought they were a great visualization for how we should ...

Struggling To Eat All Your Clean Calories? A Nutrition Tip On Volume

Posted by:

When people have been reducing their restaurant trips with more clean home made food choices I’ve had more people lately struggle with getting all their calories in especially the Renaissance Periodization template clients. At the end of the day your calories and macronutrient numbers are what matter. Cleaner diets end up providing a lot more volume of food to consume.

If you eat out a lot you’re more than likely getting a high amount of calories in a low volume amount ...

RESULTS

16.2lbs down in 12 weeks
1.35lbs per week

This past Sunday I finished my 2nd 3 month dieting cut with the Renaissance Periodization auto templates (if you don’t know RP, just ask). I learned a lot from my first cut which ended on Halloween 2015. From that point through Valentines Day I simply maintained my weight and worked on building my calories and strength. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a trip to Disneyworld were all in my way which would’ve made ...

Required Eating! The Pre-Workout Meal

Posted by:

A very common trend over the years I’ve experienced are clients coming in not having eaten enough or at all prior to their workout. This has occurred for years in the mornings and in the afternoons, very common. If you are not having a well balanced pre-workout MEAL then you’re not maximizing your potential. There is no generally healthy individual on the planet that would not benefit greatly from fueling their body pre-workout vs not doing so, zero exceptions. The ...

Artificial Sweeters Do Not Cause Weight Gain!

Posted by:

Another anti-Splenda (artificial sweetener) “study” was released last week filled with misinformation and fear mongering, which makes my job increasingly more difficult with these ridiculous headlines. Splenda evidently causes everything from cancer to weight gain and everything in between.

The International Food Information Council Foundation has gone on record as saying…”the safety and effectiveness of sucralose (and other low-calorie sweeteners in foods) is incredibly well supported, you shouldn’t hesitate to swap them into your diet in efforts to reduce caloric ...
