Online Personal Training Service Likely Coming Soon!

Posted by:

Now that I have completed the Behavior Change Specialist course from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, I’m starting to work on a new online personal training service. This service would also include a Taylor Carpenter Personal Training app for progress photos, measurements, messaging system, workouts, nutrition, etc…

It’s in the preliminary testing phase and if I’m not happy with everything it may not ultimately happen. I’ve tried a number of apps in the past few years and haven’t been happy with the interface or ease of use but this has potential. I will likely be testing it out myself for about a month and then if all is well, will roll out a beta version to a handful of existing 1 on 1 clients. If thats good then may be available by May-June?

This will be a different service than my 1 on 1 at the studio, the app will be geared towards online training. The main point will be to offer workout programming. I would like to offer some generic 12-16 week workout templates and then also more specific individualized linear based programming options. Videos will be included, along with exercise descriptions so people can perform each move safely and efficiently.

Nutrition may be an included feature, not sure yet. More than likely a bare minimum of macronutrient calculations will be provided.

Lastly, as mentioned before the app would include a private messaging system, a place to upload your progress photos, a place to track your measurements (scale weight, circumference measures, etc). This last bit may be offered to existing 1 on 1 clients free of charge? We will see.

Price point is probably going to be between $100-$200/month. The generic workout templates will likely fall a little bit under that amount.

Scheduling won’t be an issue, the cost will be a bit less due to lack of overhead, and you’ll still receive programming (online personal training) from a fitness professional certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Currently certified as a personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, fitness nutrition specialist, and behavior change specialist! Will also be able to pull up from the convenience of your own mobile device or laptop!

More details will come as I move along in the process, I’ll probably share some more screenshots as well.
